Zelienople Borough, Butler County, Pennsylvania is a borough located in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 4123 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 3923, making it Pennsylvania's 350th largest. The borough encompasses an area of 2.17 sq mi (5.62 sq km ), of which, 2.13 square miles (5.52 sq km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 sq km) of it is water, it is the 333rd largest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 4123 people, 1956 households, and 1054 families living in the borough. The population density was 1938.1 people per square mile (748.3/kmē), it is the 654th most densely populated borough in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. There were 2113 housing units at an average density of 992 per square mile (383.01/kmē). The average household size was 2.07 and the average family size was 2.87. In the borough the population was spread out, with 21.1% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 23.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 84.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.3 males. The median age was 41.3 years, the median age of male residents at 38.4 and the median age of female residents at 44. The racial makeup of the borough was 4037 White, 16 Black or African American, 3 American Indian, 27 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 33 from two or more races and 7 Ohter races.
