In July 2008, its estimated population was 194322, It is sixth most populous county in Arizona. The county encompasses an area of 5518.96 mi˛ (14294.04 sq km ), of which, 5514.09 square miles (14281.43 sq km) of it is land and 4.87 square miles (12.61 sq km) of it is water, makes it the ninth largest by total area in Arizona. It is ranks tenth in the size of its inland waterways in Arizona.
