Youngwood Borough is a United States borough located in the Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The borough has a population of 4138 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 3069, making it Pennsylvania's 347th largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.86 mi˛ (4.82 square kilometre), of which, 1.84 square miles (4.77 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 415th largest by total area in Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4138 people, 1506 households, and 891 families living in the borough. The population density was 2249.2 people per square mile (868.42/km˛), making it the 579th most densely populated borough in Pennsylvania. There were 1601 housing units at an average density of 870.1 per square mile (335.95/km˛). The average household size was 2.14 and the average family size was 2.79. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 14.7% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 38.4% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 136.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 143.4 males. The median age was 38.9 years, The median age of males was 37 years, for females the median age was 43.1 years. The racial makeup of the borough was 87.68% White, 11.65% Black or African American, 0.24% American Indian, 0.17% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.24% from two or more races and 0.02% Other races.
