Youngstown City is a city in the Mahoning and Trumbull counties, Ohio, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 82026 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 72925, It is eighth most populous in Ohio. The city extends throughout a territory of 34.25 mi˛ (88.71 sq km ), of which, 33.9 square miles (87.8 sq km) of it is land and 0.35 square miles (0.91 sq km) of it is water, making it the eighth largest by size in Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 82026 people, 32177 households, and 19729 families living in the city. The population density was 2419.9 people per square mile (934.33/km˛), it is Ohio's 183rd most densely populated city. There were 37159 housing units at an average density of 1096.1 per square mile (423.21/km˛). The average household size was 2.39 people, and the average family size was 3.07 people.
