York County is a county located in Maine, in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 186742 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 201686, It is Maine's second most populous county. It is spread over 1271.34 square miles (3292.76 kmē), of which, 990.92 square miles (2566.47 kmē ) of it is land and 280.43 square miles (726.31 kmē) of it is water, it is the ninth largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Maine.
