Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 65717, giving it the 120th largest population among California. It is spread over 19.86 sq mi (51.44 square kilometre), of which, 19.37 square miles (50.17 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.49 square miles (1.27 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 152nd largest by total area among California.
