Yelm City is a city in the Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population of the city was 3289 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 5800, It is the 215th largest by population in the U.S. state of Washington. It is spread over 5.63 mi˛ (14.58 sq km), it is the 170th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3289 residents, 1216 households, and 807 families in the city.
