Yavapai County, Arizona is a county located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Yavapai County is home to 167517 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 215503 in July 2008, It is Arizona's fourth most populous county. It is spread over 8127.78 mi˛ (21050.85 sq km), of which, 8123.3 square miles (21039.25 sq km ) of it is land and 4.48 square miles (11.6 sq km) of it is water, giving it the seventh largest by total area among Arizona's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 167517 people, 70171 households, and 46754 families living in the county. The population density was 20.6 people per square mile (7.95/km˛), it is Arizona's sixth most densely populated county. There were 81730 housing units at an average density of 10.1 per square mile (3.9/km˛). The average household size was 2.33 people, and the average family size was 2.79 people. In the county Age distribution was 21.1% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 22.4% from 25 to 44, 27.4% from 45 to 64, and 22% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 104 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106.9 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 215503, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 94.67% White, 1.05% Black or African American, 1.74% American Indian, 0.83% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian, and 1.59% from two or more races.
