Wyoming County is a United States county located in the United States of New York. The population of the county was 43424 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 41652, giving it the eighth smallest population among New York's county. The county comprises an area of 596.44 miē (1544.77 kmē), of which, 592.91 square miles (1535.63 kmē) of it is land and 3.53 square miles (9.14 kmē) of it is water, making it the 41st largest by size in New York.

In July 2008, its estimated population was 41652, The racial makeup of the county was 92.5% White, 5.97% Black or African American, 0.33% American Indian, 0.55% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.62% from two or more races.
