Wyoming is a state located in , in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The state has a population of 493782 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 532668, It is the least populous in the U.S. state of America. It has total area of 97813.56 square miles (253335.96 kmē), of which, 97100.4 square miles (251488.88 kmē) of it is land and 713.16 square miles (1847.08 kmē) of it is water, making it the tenth largest by size in United States.

As of the census of 2000, there were 493782 people in the state, organized into 193608 households, and 130497 families residing in the state. The population density was 5.1 people per square mile (1.97/kmē), giving it the second least densely populated state among the United States. There were 223854 housing units at an average density of 2.3 per square mile (0.89/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 3 persons. In the state the population is diverse age-wise, with 26.1% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 24% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 101.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.7 males. The median age was 36.2 years, the median age of male residents at 35.3 and the median age of female residents at 37.1. In July 2008, its estimated population was 493782, The racial or ethnic makeup of the state was 92.08% White, 0.75% Black or African American, 2.25% American Indian, 0.56% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, 1.8% from two or more races and 2.49% Other races.
