Wylie City is one of the city of Collin, Rockwall and Dallas counties, Texas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. It is home to over 15132 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 37861, It is the 146th largest in terms of population. The city extends throughout a territory of 33.3 sq mi (86.25 sq km ), of which, 19.37 square miles (50.17 sq km) of it is land and 13.93 square miles (36.08 sq km) of it is water, it is the 68th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas. It is ranks tenth in the size of its inland waterways in Texas.
