Woonsocket City is a city in the Sanborn County, South Dakota, United States. The population of the city was 720 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 641, It is 102nd most populous in South Dakota. Its area is just over 0.79 sq mi (2.05 kmē), of which, 0.78 square miles (2.02 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, making it the 147th largest by size in South Dakota.

The racial makeup of the city was 97.5% White, 0% Black or African American, 0.42% American Indian, 1.11% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.56% from two or more races and 0.42% Other races.
