Woonsocket City is a one of the Providence County, Rhode Island, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 43224 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 43268, making it Rhode Island's sixth largest. It covers total area of 7.96 mi˛ (20.62 square kilometre), of which, 7.71 square miles (19.97 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.25 square miles (0.65 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 11th largest by area in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It is ranks 15 in the size of its inland waterways in Rhode Island.
