Woods County, Oklahoma is a county located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The population of the county was 9089 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 8422, making it Oklahoma's 16th smallest county. It has total area of 1290.07 sq mi (3341.27 square kilometre), of which, 1286.57 square miles (3332.2 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.51 square miles (9.09 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the tenth largest by total area among Oklahoma's county.

In the county the population was spread out, with 19.2% under the age of 18, 16.8% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 19.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 103.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.7 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 8422, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 7719 White, 256 Black or African American, 181 American Indian, 69 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 194 from two or more races.
