Winthrop City is a city located in the Sibley County, Minnesota, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1367 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1256, giving it the 284th largest population among Minnesota. Its area is just over 1.05 sq mi (2.72 sq km), making it Minnesota's 482nd largest by total area.
