It is the 50th most populous in the U.S. state of Maine. It covers total area of 7.2 sq mi (18.65 square kilometre), of which, 5.56 square miles (14.4 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.64 square miles (4.25 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 45th largest by area in the U.S. state of Maine. It is ranks 17 in the size of its inland waterways in Maine.
