Winter Haven City is a United States city located in the Polk County, Florida, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 26487 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 33353, making it the 103rd most populous in Florida. It has total area of 25.42 sq mi (65.84 kmē), of which, 17.68 square miles (45.79 kmē) of it is land and 7.74 square miles (20.05 kmē) of it is water, it is the 61st largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 26487 people, 11833 households, and 6940 families living in the city. The population density was 1498.3 people per square mile (578.5/kmē), making its Florida's 477th most densely populated city. There were 13912 housing units at an average density of 786.9 per square mile (303.82/kmē). The average household size was 2.17 persons, and the average family size was 2.81 persons.
