Winona County is a one of the county from Minnesota's 87 counties, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Winona County had an official population of 49985 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 49879, It is the 19th largest in terms of population. The county encompasses an area of 641.59 mi˛ (1661.71 sq km ), of which, 626.3 square miles (1622.11 sq km) of it is land and 15.29 square miles (39.6 sq km) of it is water, making it the 51st largest by size in Minnesota.
