Windsor County is a county in the United States of Vermont. The population of county in 2000 stood at 57418 as per the Census data. Its population was estimated at 56566 in July 2008, making it Vermont's fourth largest county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 975.74 square miles (2527.15 sq km), of which, 970.96 square miles (2514.77 sq km) of it is land and 4.78 square miles (12.38 sq km) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of Vermont.

As of the census of 2000, there were 57418 people in the county, organized into 24162 households, and 15724 families living in the county. The population density was 59.1 people per square mile (22.82/kmē), it is the sixth most populated county in terms of population density. There were 31621 housing units at an average density of 32.6 per square mile (12.59/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.35 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons. In the county Age distribution was 23.3% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 27.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.1 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 56566, The racial makeup of the county was 55069 White, 360 Black or African American, 145 American Indian, 444 Asian, 17 Native Hawaiian, and 531 from two or more races.
