Wind Gap Borough is a borough in the Northampton County, Pennsylvania, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2812 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the borough is 2785, giving it the 487th largest population among Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.37 square miles (3.55 sq km), of which, 1.36 square miles (3.52 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 575th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2812 people, 1221 households, and 765 families living in the borough. The population density was 2061.8 people per square mile (796.07/kmē), making its Pennsylvania's 628th most densely populated borough. There were 1294 housing units at an average density of 951.5 per square mile (367.38/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.25 persons, and the average family size was 2.84 persons. In the borough Age distribution was 20.8% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 112.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 118.2 females. The median age was 39.3 years, The median age of males was 37.3 years, for females the median age was 41.7 years. The racial makeup of the borough was 2745 White, 13 Black or African American, 1 American Indian, 19 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 19 from two or more races and 15 Ohter races.
