As per the 2000 census, census designated place has a population of 20810 inhabitants. It is 64th most populous in Massachusetts. The census designated place extends throughout a territory of 6.29 mi˛ (16.29 sq km ), of which, 6.04 square miles (15.64 sq km) of it is land and 0.25 square miles (0.65 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 84th largest by total area among Massachusetts.
