Wilmington Island Cdp is a United States census designated place located in the Chatham County, Georgia, United States. As of 2000 the population was 14213. It is the 54th largest in terms of population. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the census designated place has a total area of 9.46 mi˛ (24.5 square kilometre), of which, 8.45 square miles (21.89 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.01 square miles (2.62 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 86th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is ranks 16 in the size of its inland waterways in Georgia.
