Wilmington City is one of the city of Clinton County, Ohio, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 11921 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 12603, It is 150th most populous in Ohio. It has total area of 7.45 square miles (19.3 kmē), giving it the 138th largest by total area among Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11921 residents, 4867 households, and 2932 families in the city. The population density was 1599.9 people per square mile (617.72/kmē), it is Ohio's 452nd most densely populated city.
