Willmar City is a United States city located in the Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 18351 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 17774, It is the 51st largest by population in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The city comprises an area of 13.6 mi˛ (35.22 square kilometre), of which, 11.84 square miles (30.67 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.76 square miles (4.56 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 80th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 18351 people, 7302 households, and 4462 families living in the city. The population density was 1549.9 people per square mile (598.42/km˛), giving it the 132nd most densely populated city among the Minnesota.
