Williston City is a one of the Williams County, North Dakota, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Williston City had an official population of 12512 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 12641, It is ninth most populous in North Dakota. It has total area of 7.04 mi˛ (18.23 sq km), of which, 6.97 square miles (18.05 sq km) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 sq km) of it is water, making it the 18th largest by size in North Dakota. It is ranks 19 in the size of its inland waterways in North Dakota.

The population density was 1794.1 people per square mile (692.71/km˛), giving it the 19th most densely populated city among the North Dakota.
