Williston City is a city in the Levy County, Florida, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 2297 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 2918, It is Florida's 291st smallest by population . Its area is just over 6.08 sq mi (15.75 square kilometre), of which, 6.06 square miles (15.7 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 288th largest by total area among Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2297 people, 836 households, and 580 families residing in the city. The population density was 379 people per square mile (146.33/kmē), it would be the 120th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Florida. There were 915 housing units at an average density of 151 per square mile (58.3/kmē). The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.03. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 26.2% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 19.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 86.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 76.9 males. The median age was 37.9 years, the median age of male residents at 34 and the median age of female residents at 41. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 1687 White, 524 Black or African American, 18 American Indian, 17 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 25 from two or more races and 25 Ohter races.
