Williamstown City is one of the city of Wood County, West Virginia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of the city was 2996 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2982, making it the 46th most populous in West Virginia. It is spread over 1.76 square miles (4.56 kmē), of which, 1.34 square miles (3.47 kmē ) of it is land and 0.42 square miles (1.09 kmē) of it is water, it is the 97th largest by area in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It is ranks 15 in the size of its inland waterways in West Virginia.
