Williamston Town is a one of the Anderson County, South Carolina, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 3791 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 3964, making it the 107th most populous in South Carolina. It has total area of 3.64 mi˛ (9.43 sq km), of which, 3.59 square miles (9.3 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, making it the 152nd largest by size in South Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3791 people, 1590 households, and 1090 families residing in the town. The population density was 1056.2 people per square mile (407.8/km˛), it is South Carolina's 102nd most densely populated town. There were 1762 housing units at an average density of 490.8 per square mile (189.5/km˛). The average household size was 2.38 persons, and the average family size was 2.91 persons. In the town the population is diverse age-wise, with 22.8% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 91.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.7 males.
