Wilcox County is a United States county located in the United States of Georgia. Wilcox County had an official population of 8577 in 2000. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 8750, giving it the 23rd smallest population among Georgia's county. Its area is just over 383.3 sq mi (992.74 sq km), of which, 380.3 square miles (984.97 sq km) of it is land and 3 square miles (7.77 sq km) of it is water, it is the 64th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

The population density was 22.6 people per square mile (8.73/kmē), it is Georgia's 20th least densely populated county. There were 3320 housing units at an average density of 8.7 per square mile (3.36/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.55 persons, and the average family size was 3.09 persons. The population's age distribution was 22.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 123.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 131 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 8750, The racial makeup of the county was 5442 White, 3240 Black or African American, 16 American Indian, 14 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 36 from two or more races.
