The county extends throughout a territory of 890.09 sq mi (2305.32 square kilometre ), of which, 889.31 square miles (2303.3 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.78 square miles (2.02 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the third smallest by total area among Montana's county.
