Whitwell City is a one of the Marion County, Tennessee, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 1660. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1603, making it the 207th most populous in Tennessee. The city comprises an area of 3.32 sq mi (8.6 square kilometre), of which, 3.32 square miles (8.6 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Tennessee's 226th largest by total area.
