Whittier City is a city located in Valdez-Cordova Census Area, Alaska, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 182 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 159 in July 2008, It is 196th most populous in Alaska. The city comprises an area of 19.69 mi˛ (51 square kilometre), of which, 12.53 square miles (32.45 square kilometre) of it is land and 7.16 square miles (18.54 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 191st largest by total area in Alaska.

As of the census of 2000, there were 182 residents, 86 households, and 46 families in the city. The population density was 14.5 people per square mile (5.6/km˛), it is the 178th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 213 housing units at an average density of 17 per square mile (6.56/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.12 persons, and the average family size was 2.8 persons. In the city Population was distributed with 22% under the age of 18, 2.7% from 18 to 24, 36.8% from 25 to 44, 31.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.6% who were 65 or older. The racial makeup of the city was 144 White, Black or African American, 10 American Indian, 13 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 15 from two or more races and Ohter races.
