Whitley County is a county in the United States of Indiana. The population of the county was 30707 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 32667, giving it the 50th largest population among Indiana's county. The county comprises an area of 337.9 mi˛ (875.16 square kilometre), of which, 335.52 square miles (868.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.38 square miles (6.16 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 19th smallest by total area in Indiana.

The population density was 91.5 people per square mile (35.33/km˛), it is the 44th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Indiana. In the county the population was spread out, with 26.7% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 13% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 101.5 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 104.1 females. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 32667, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 98.06% White, 0.47% Black or African American, 0.36% American Indian, 0.36% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 0.7% from two or more races.
