Wharton Borough is a United States borough located in the Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of 2000 the population was 6298. The borough's estimated population as of July 2008 was 6083, making it New Jersey's 250th largest. It covers total area of 2.21 square miles (5.72 kmē), of which, 2.19 square miles (5.67 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 268th largest by total area in New Jersey.
