Wexford County is a county in the United States of Michigan. In 2000, county's population was 30484 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 31673, making it Michigan's 47th largest county. The county has a total area of 575.84 square miles (1491.42 square kilometre), of which, 565.49 square miles (1464.61 square kilometre) of it is land and 10.35 square miles (26.81 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 22nd smallest by total area in Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 30484 people in the county, organized into 11824 households, and 8386 families residing in the county. The population density was 53.9 people per square mile (20.81/kmē), it is the 46th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Michigan. There were 14872 housing units at an average density of 26.3 per square mile (10.15/kmē). The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3. In the county the population was spread out, with 26.8% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 14% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 31673, The racial makeup of the county was 96.91% White, 0.54% Black or African American, 0.85% American Indian, 0.59% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.08% from two or more races.
