Wetumpka City is one of the city of Elmore County, Alabama, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The city has a population of 5726 as per the 2000 census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7719, It is the 91st largest by population in the U.S. state of Alabama. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.91 square miles (23.08 sq km), of which, 8.51 square miles (22.04 sq km) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (1.04 sq km) of it is water, it is the 149th largest in terms of geographical size.
