Westport Cdp is a census designated place located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 25749 inhabitants. It is the 26th most populous in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It has total area of 33.33 square miles (86.32 kmē), of which, 20.01 square miles (51.83 kmē) of it is land and 13.32 square miles (34.5 kmē) of it is water, making it Connecticut's sixth largest by total area. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Connecticut.

As of the census of 2000, there were 25749 people, 9586 households, and 7166 families residing in the census designated place. The population density was 1286.7 people per square mile (496.8/kmē), it is the 64th most densely populated census designated place in the U.S. state of Connecticut. There were 10065 housing units at an average density of 503 per square mile (194.21/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.66 persons, and the average family size was 3.1 persons. In the census designated place the population was distributed as follows: 27.9% under the age of 18, 2.7% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 28% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 or older.
