Weston County is one of the 23 county of Wyoming, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 6644 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 7022, It is the fourth least populous county in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The county extends throughout a territory of 2400.07 square miles (6216.15 sq km ), of which, 2397.86 square miles (6210.43 sq km) of it is land and 2.21 square miles (5.72 sq km) of it is water, giving it the sixth smallest by total area among Wyoming's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6644 people, 2624 households, and 1869 families living in the county. The population density was 2.8 people per square mile (1.08/kmē), making it the seventh least densely populated county in Wyoming. There were 3231 housing units at an average density of 1.3 per square mile (0.5/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.42 persons, and the average family size was 2.88 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 24.1% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 103.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.8 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 7022, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 6784 White, 18 Black or African American, 105 American Indian, 14 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 100 from two or more races.
