It is the 50th largest in terms of population. The census designated place has a total area of 17.54 sq mi (45.43 kmē), of which, 16.75 square miles (43.38 kmē) of it is land and 0.79 square miles (2.05 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 33rd largest by total area in Massachusetts.
