West Baton Rouge Parish is one of the 64 parish of Louisiana, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The parish has a population of 21601 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 22553, giving it the 41st largest population among Louisiana's parish. It has total area of 203.62 square miles (527.37 kmē), of which, 191.2 square miles (495.21 kmē) of it is land and 12.42 square miles (32.17 kmē) of it is water, it is the smallest in terms of geographical size.

For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the parish is 22553, The racial or ethnic makeup of the parish was 62.24% White, 36.5% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 0.25% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.77% from two or more races.
