West Alexander Borough, Pennsylvania


West Alexander Borough is a United States borough located in the Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is home to over 320 people (2000 census). The borough's estimated population as of July 2008 was 301, giving it the 188th smallest population among Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.16 sq mi (0.41 kmē), it is the 71st smallest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 320 residents, 116 households, and 83 families in the borough. The population density was 2033.5 people per square mile (785.14/kmē), making it the 634th most densely populated borough in Pennsylvania. There were 125 housing units at an average density of 781.3 per square mile (301.66/kmē). The average household size was 2.61 people, and the average family size was 3.16 people. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 29.7% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 19.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 81.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.6 males. The median age is 35 years, The median age of males was 35.3 years, for females the median age was 34.8 years. The racial makeup of the borough was 313 White, 5 Black or African American, American Indian, Asian, Native Hawaiian, 2 from two or more races and Ohter races.
