Wessington City is a city in the Beadle and Hand counties, South Dakota, United States. As of 2000 the population was 248. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 226, It is the 199th largest by population in the U.S. state of South Dakota. The city encompasses an area of 0.38 square miles (0.98 sq km), makes it the 234th largest by total area in South Dakota.
