Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 7735, It is the 39th largest in terms of population. The city spans an area of 5.77 sq mi (14.94 sq km), of which, 5.65 square miles (14.63 sq km) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 sq km) of it is water, it is the 40th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.
