Weirton City is a city in the Hancock and Brooke counties, West Virginia, United States. The city has a population of 20411 as per the 2000 census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 18748, making it the sixth most populous in West Virginia. It is spread over 19.26 mi˛ (49.88 square kilometre), of which, 17.87 square miles (46.28 square kilometre ) of it is land and 1.39 square miles (3.6 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the fifth largest by size in West Virginia. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in West Virginia.
