Weddington Town is a town located in Union and Mecklenburg counties, North Carolina, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. Weddington Town had an official population of 6696 in 2000. The town's estimated population as of July 2008 was 9882, It is the 98th most populous in the U.S. state of North Carolina. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 15.9 mi˛ (41.18 square kilometre), of which, 15.79 square miles (40.9 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 44th largest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.

The population density was 424 people per square mile (163.71/km˛), making its North Carolina's 188th least densely populated town. In the town the population was spread out, with 32.5% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 28.9% from 45 to 64, and 5.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 95.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 99.7 females.
