Webster County, Mississippi is a county located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. Webster County had an official population of 10294 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 9887, It is eighth least populous county in Mississippi. It is spread over 423.34 square miles (1096.45 sq km), of which, 422.49 square miles (1094.24 sq km ) of it is land and 0.85 square miles (2.2 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 14th smallest by total area in Mississippi.

In the county the population was spread out, with 26.1% under the age of 18, 9% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.4 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 9887, The racial makeup of the county was 78.36% White, 20.82% Black or African American, 0.15% American Indian, 0.15% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.52% from two or more races.
