Wayne County is a county located in Ohio, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 111564 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 113812, making it Ohio's 24th largest county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 556.31 sq mi (1440.84 sq km), of which, 555.36 square miles (1438.38 sq km) of it is land and 0.96 square miles (2.49 sq km) of it is water, it is the 21st largest by area in the U.S. state of Ohio.
