As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 67795, It is the 24th largest in terms of population. The county spans an area of 404.34 sq mi (1047.24 sq km), of which, 403.57 square miles (1045.24 sq km) of it is land and 0.78 square miles (2.02 sq km) of it is water, making it the 45th largest by size in Indiana.
