Wayne County, Illinois is a county of the United States of Illinois. The population of county in 2000 stood at 17151 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 16494, making it Illinois's 69th largest county. It has total area of 715.56 sq mi (1853.29 sq km), of which, 713.9 square miles (1848.99 sq km) of it is land and 1.66 square miles (4.3 sq km) of it is water, it is the 25th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
