Waupaca City is a city in the Waupaca County, Wisconsin, United States. The population of the city was 5676 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5826, It is Wisconsin's 119th largest by population . The city spans an area of 6.13 mi˛ (15.88 square kilometre), of which, 5.99 square miles (15.51 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.14 square miles (0.36 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Wisconsin's 101st largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5676 people in the city, organized into 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 947 people per square mile (365.64/km˛), making it the 259th most densely populated city in Wisconsin. There were 2543 housing units at an average density of 424.5 per square mile (163.9/km˛). The average household size was 2.25 people, and the average family size was 3.01 people. Age range in the city was well distributed with 25.4% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 17.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 88.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.9 males. The median age was 36.5 years, the median age of male residents at 34.3 and the median age of female residents at 38.7. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 5464 White, 19 Black or African American, 49 American Indian, 14 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 50 from two or more races and 79 Ohter races.
